hello! I'm early at church today, hubby's practicing for the worship later, so here I am on my lappy.

Just wanted to drop some lines on some thoughts going on in my mind.

Life has been pretty much the same. Every week its the going back to my mum's for dinner and playing with Emma, who is so grown up now! I can't believe how fast she grows physically and also mentally. She can say many words now. Its cracks me up when u ask her "Emma do you want to eat this?" she will say "WANT!!!!" or she will say "YESSSS!!!" and when u ask her "Emma do you love grandma, she will say Yessss, with an extended "ssss" and when u go on to ask her the rest, do you love mummy, do you love Er Yi, do you love Xiao-Yi, she says Yessss...but with a whisper....maybe a sign that she is tired of answering the questions.

Her mind is really intelligent, she can count 1-20 in English and even chinese!! She knows her ABCs and you will be amazed at the strong sense of "repeating what you say"

That aside, work has been great! Recently my boss is heading up to head office in Norway and she asked me if I want to go with her. Of course the answer is YES!!! It will be an experience for me, heading up so northwards in Europe. And the best part is we will be spending 1 night in Amsterdam! YIPPEEE!!!! Thank God, for this opportunity.

We were at BB day yesterday, which was supposed to be a cycling trip at East coast, but due to wet weather, the wet weather plan was at Terminal 3. I enjoyed myself very much at this BB day. As I was watching instructions being given out to the kids, what I see is a picture of God's family working together hand in hand and its such a warm and nice feeling. Yes I guess thats how it will be at the end of the day....

As I grow older

As we get older, certain things that used to matter doesn't matter anymore. Certain things that didn't use to matter seem so important now.

I feel that as I get older, I start to watch my words more. I start to feel the power that words can give. I also learn to contain my thoughts and words more, this I learnt from someone close to my heart. It doesn't mean that when you have an opinion, or when you have certain thoughts, you ALWAYS have to express them. Its good to keep it inside you sometimes.

I feel that as I get older, I start to listen more and observe more. The eagerness to shoot off words that are lining up at the tip of my tongue is toned down. This I feel is good, because words flying off a cliff with0ut parachute can kill.

I feel that as I get older, I start to see things from different perspective. The old opinionated me has taken a step back and the new mind that works to see things in different ways has stepped forward. I Learnt to empathise more with people's actions, people's words, learning to put myself in their shoes to try and see the shadow behind the 1st level of words/action. This is what I learnt from the marriage course that we are currently attending.

I feel that as I grow older, all the hurts that I have experienced and gone through starts to be immuned on me. The someone close to my heart has also helped me alot in handling all these hurts and his comfort envelopes the pain. Thank you!

I am in church now! Using the new netbook I collected today. Yeah!! ASUS and the best part is that it came free! :P

Hubby is practising in the worship team now. He picked me up for dinner at Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh near my office which is yummy! I decided to accompany him to song prac today. I know quite a few occasions he has asked me to accompany him already! So here I am today.

Its been soo sooo long since I blogged.

Life has been very good. I had a good Xmas and a super birthday celebration where I passed the line into the BIG 30!

Gosh I am 30 already....seems like only yesterday I graduated and started to work.

Since like yesterday I met HJ and got married.

All seems like yesterday....time truly flies....

But The Lord has been really GOOD to both of us. So many blessings which came our way....it makes me feel so happy and grateful! Its wonderful that around us there are so many friends, family and angels that God has planted that makes our life on earth more interesting and nice.

Some things have changed and progressed this few months. Things that we never imagined. Events that are unimaginable. All happening! Gosh... No matter what happens, I know that it's in God's plan, and hubby and I are trying our best to understand His intentions.

From the sharing between me and hubby, we have set 2 prayer items that we have decided to start praying for and we wait and see when God will answer them.

Its both exciting and anticipating, to see when the prayers will be answered.

On a side note, church life has been great. I can sense the bonds that have built up stronger in our CG. Also bonds we have built up with other church friends. Can I say that God is really building up on my attitudes and thoughts, on the way I view things, on the way I handle things, of the words I say. I kinda like the way I can exercise more self control.

Hubby has been great to live with. He is a great cook! And I pale in comparison in some dishes. Sometimes its funny to see how he downloads recipes and refer to them every few secs he is cooking. Not forgetting the surprise bday "party" he gathered for me, which was a real surprise and touched my heart!

This morning I checked my HP and saw a message sent 12.35am.
"he proposed to me tonite!!! very romantic!!!"

Wow! So happy for 1 of my good frens. Immediately there was a call for a girls meet-up. celebration!!!!
We want to hear all about it!!!!! wahahhaa....

In the car this morning, I was telling HJ about it and it suddenly dawned on me that the proposal date 1/11 has a significance cos they were going to get hitched on 11/1!!!
Wow! Careful planning on his part!

Then HJ asked me, so when did I propose to you?
I thought about it and replied 12th Aug!!!!! 12/08

It suddenly dawned on HJ that we got married on 08/12!!!

Wow! Intrinsic planning as well??? wahahha :P

2nd year wedding trip!

We are back from our 2nd year wedding trip!

It was a solid 21 days where we covered some countries in Europe.

Man I love PARIS!! I want to go back again.

Me and hubby are thinking of going back on our 10th year wedding anniversary!

I will never forget some exciting incidences that happened on the trip, as well as the beautiful scenery we saw and the expedition at the top of the Jungfrau Mountain where hubby went around looking for the husky ski dog sleighs while I panted behind him (WAY behind him), the air is super thin up there!

On the trip we experienced so much of God's protection and blessings, help that came along unexpected, which we can't help but believe its divine intervention.

Thank God for the wonderful trip!!

Not to forget all the loots I brought back, did I mention I love Fox Town?

This week, we accompanied a couple for viewing of wedding venue and it brings back memories to the time when we went around searching for a suitable wedding venue for our church wedding. At that time we did not own a car and we viewed venues by bus + on foot. Though it was a tiring experience, we managed to find the perfect church hall for our wedding! Hallelujah!

True the wedding venue plays an important part for the wedding but in my opinion, the marriage itself is all the more important as Marriage is for life and wedding is merely a dot - 1 day in the start of the journey.

For us, its been almost 2 years and as we prepare for our 2nd year wedding trip, my heart leaps with excitement and anticipation to the day it arrives :)

Story of the HP alarm

Normally if I want to follow hubby's car in the morning, he will wake up 1st then call me to wake up after he wash up.
Last night he said,

"You set your HP alarm le! My HP low batt already!!!"

Me: Man! what time?

Him: 7.10 am lo!

Me: Then I have to wake up at 7.10am same time as u ah? :( ok lo

This morning hubby woke up me as usual.
I noticed my HP was missing from my bedside table. And I was puzzled.
After I washed up, I saw my phone at my walk-in! Beside my bag.
He had dis-alarmed it so as not to wake me up at 7.10am.

Wooo....so nice....

The past weeks have been very eventful.

A wedding, welcoming of new born babies, nice catch-up dinners with friends, nice picnic at the park with CG, nice family dinners and not forgetting nice "married time" between me and hubby.

Hubby suggested we do 1 thing new every week. Which has worked out pretty well so far. Weekly we tried new restaurants at new places and its nice hanging out together.

For the past week we both took leave and spent the day buying something which costs $770 (I hope its truly worth the $$) , tried the Carousel Hi Tea for the 1st time, caught a movie and finished it off with a drink at Dempsey.

We have lived half of 2009. Hello Sep 09!

Rushed home to watch Michelle and Shawn's wedding yesterday night telecasted live on Channel 8. Wow her gown is really gorgeous. Watching the morning zhuang men and evening dinner just brings back memories for our wedding back in 2007.

Sooo...we pulled out our wedding video and played it.

Watching our own video, we giggled alot, especially when we watched the part when we solemnmise in church.

Wow....I never regret engaging a videographer to film the entire wedding.

Watching the video makes me feel so loved.

So loved that we have so many brothers and sister in Christ we helped us.

The church decor done by Eunice, Wenrou and Bryan is just gorgeous and looks so professional.

The zhuang men that is so funny!

The worship team at church which made the entire wedding so so beautiful.

Our care group members who put up a special program for us, sweet!

Our dinner emcees, Yingliang and Shuqing, who did such a brilliant and professional job, and were so natural!

My parents, who demonstrated their love to both me and HJ.

My sisters and cousin! Who helped us so much!

But the best gift, is to be married with Jesus Christ as our witness, our love is strengthened in the Lord, our Saviour.

Its amazing. The present He gave to us, so freely.

Prawn prawn prawn

Have you ever tried prawning before?

I haven't, not until last Saturday afternoon.

Hee our CG decided to go prawning at this place somewhere in the north. And we spent 3 solid hours prawning.

Initially I wasn't really very keen, cos the other time I went fishing with HJ, I caught nothing. So to me prawning is like fishing, difficult to catch anything.

But that was proven wrong as the moment I threw in the rod, something tugged at my rod! And I pulled it out of water, and it was prawn number 1!!

Hee hee....seems easy rite? But actually after that, my 2nd prawn only came in the 3rd hour. Man! But I enjoyed myself waiting for the prawns. There were a few times when I could feel them eating the bait but when I was pulling them out of the water, they managed to escape! I think I am quite a bad fisher, both fish and prawns.

HJ caught 3! Which is a pretty good record.

At the end of the 3 hours, we put all our prawns in a plastic bag, there were 13 in all.

7 of us, 13 prawns.

We got the restaurant there to help cook the prawns for us. black pepper! yummy!

CG was very enjoyable that evening, with 2 of them coming over to our lovenest with dabao zhi char and lotsa sharing. nice nice!

Me and hubby had a delightful afternoon tea at this really wonderful cafe at Paragon this afternoon.

This place is called COVA Pasticceria-Confetteria and me and hubby never tasted better chocolate truffle cakes. As for me, a coffee lover, I would say that they serve up really delicious skinny lattes. The coffee full of aroma, but not bitter or overly done. The taste is just so right! Even the iced coffee that hubby had was full of flavour but had no bitter coffee taste at all. Do you know what is the best part? The 2 drinks were absolutely free! All thanks to a survey we did few months back! Hee hee....

Yummy. Absolutely wonderful dining experience.

Much better that the Royal Copenhagen tea me and hubby had 2 weeks ago together with my little sis, where the scones served were not impressive and the iced tea served was in a puny little glass and the entire place was so noisy like a marketplace!

Some time back, hubby brought me to this place for desserts. Ooohhh I absolutely love desserts. Cakes, cakes and more cakes. I will never get tired of them. These days the craving of cakes is all the more! Just dreaming of cakes makes me happy. Cheese cake, oreo cake, sugar rolls, chocolate cakes, durian cake, fruit tarts *drooling*

Its been a terrible week.

MC on Monday and Thursday.
Nasty rashes on Sunday and Wednesday night.
Terrible throat infection since Tuesday night, which developed full blown on Wednesday night, and remains full blown.

This illness is getting way too long to recover.
Really hope to recover soon.

Weak Immune System!

Was down with a super bad sorethroat and fever on Friday.
Dint see a doc for that, just gulped down tonnes of water and some panadol.
Because I was sick, me and hubby couldn't proceed with his plan for the evening :(
So we ended up eating taiwan porridge and dabaoing tau hway home for dessert. I rested while hubby tried to do his bible study presentation thingy and his stuff.

Saturday evening I noticed signs of the "Once in every few years rashes" that I seem to suffer from. Prayed hard that it wouldn't spread and went ahead to attend F3 at B18. It was a nice healthtalk and mini exercise session which I enjoyed.
But when I got home, the rashes started to act up, soon into the night, it was kinda full blown on my legs and arms.

Scratch scratch scratch throughout the night.
It was truly a super uncomfortable experience.
I remember the previous time I had it was 3 years ago when me and hubby were in charge of a CG Botanic Gardens program. And in the end hubby went ahead alone with the program while I had to stay at home.
This round the rashes were not as bad as that time. Thank God for that!
Thank God that the clinic downstairs is opened on Sunday mornings and I could go down for consultation conveniently. Thank God that the medicine works! I feel better already.
I missed church and EE class on Sunday. Feels weird watching TV on a sunday morning all alone.
BUT! I had some thoughts from this terrible rashes, which gave me a warm and snuggly feel!

How do you know he cares?

he is ok to just sleep without the aircon if you are feeling cold, although he feels hot
he puts powder on your rashes
he helps u to scratch your rashes
With rashes all over your body, he still hugs you to sleep
he is not afraid to have skin contact with your rashes
he is ok to go hungry at church and rush home so to have lunch with you
he is ok to just stay at home for the entire weekend if u are not feeling well

I think there is some element of "Chef Aw" in me that makes me feel happy when I cook. Especially for my hubby. Haha though that may be the case, I think my cooking is slightly below average. Not tasty. Just edible.

But its ok, the planning what to cook, buying the ingredients, chopping up the ingredients and finally dumping them into the fire is something that I enjoy lots!

But I dont like the cleaning up though. But hubby taught me to clean up as and when I am done with using the bowl for mixing, pot for cooking, utensils etc and not leave everything until after the meal goes down our stomachs. Which in my opinion, works out pretty fine. Cos when u wash as u cook, you wont be laden with soooo sooo many dishes after the meal.

So I have already thought of what to whip up tonight. This includes clearing up the stuff in the fridge as we wont in town this weekend, and of course the purchase of certain accompaniments to make the dishes complete.

Weee.......CHEF AW cooking tonight! :)

Wonderful weather

Its Monday. Its raining cats and dogs outside. I am sitting here on my couch in my living room, looking out through my long glass windows, enjoying the peace of the weather and the tranquility of the surroundings. Am working from home today, which really beats the Monday blues. Just had a packet of chicken rice and a hot cuppa green tea. Totally relaxing. I love love rainy days, if I am at home that is.

Today seems like a continuation of my long weekend where I had dim sum hi-tea with my family on Friday and some serious shopping/damage done till around 9.30pm. Hee hee remember the previous post where I had set for myself? To think of it, I actually did quite well in fulfilling like 50% of the goal, which is not to buy any shoes/bags/clothes from that day till end of March. Aye...so I broke the rules with 1 pair of jeans, a dress, 2 tops, 2 pairs of shoes and some facial products. But! I think I did well for a start!

Last Thurs was the Isetan private sale and I actually went in the morning to grab something for hubby! He dropped me off at 8am and when I reached Isetan Scotts, the queue was already beyond what I imagine. Tonnes of pple man! As I hate to join queues, I got myself some Mac breakfast and sat there, looking at the snake getting longer and longer. As I enjoyed my breakfast, slowly sipping my tea, I saw someone in the queue looking at me! It was hubby's ex colleague! She waved to me asked me to join her in the queue. Wow wonderful! So in the end I got into the sale fast even though I dint need to queue. :P

I joined the church Evangelical Explosion course this semester and I have no regrets taking up this course as I am able to learn the tools of sharing the gospel. It strengthens my belief and my Christian faith and I hope to be able to share the gospel with the people I love and friends around me. Although this course is quite tough, where we need to undergo "On the Job Training", it gives me a sense of sweetness, as it involves the salvation of people around you. Just last Thurs my team paid a visit to one of the brothers, a Thai, who has been attending our church but has yet to accept Christ and our leader shared with him the gospel while we observed. When he said yes to accepting the Lord, wow my heart was filled with so much joy and thanksgiving. It motivates me to perservere in this course.

Added a few stuff to our little nest recently. A Winnie The Pooh Rug which is shaped in the POOH SHAPE and I super love it, thats why me and hubby bargained with the seller, who reduced the price from $16.80 to $15. Full length mirror at shoe rack so hubby can see if his shoes can match his outfit before he goes out. A mini rack with heels so we can place drinks/food when the dining table gets too small for a big group and many many photoframes! I love photos. Haha....

Had a wonderful seafood dinner with my buddies from Uni on eve of V day and HJ joined us this time! Its really nice to catch up with friends, even though we meet like once every few months. I am so happy that 4 of us are all attached/getting married/married. Especially 1 of my good friend Jewel, I am so happy for her! GREAT! So now I will start saving up to attend their future weddings!

V day was spent in the day with my CG. Actually me and Lizhen planned this V day program for the CG cos we want to celebrate V day together! Not just among lovers, but among brothers and sisters. I was very pleased that in the end 10 people turned up. Not too bad for attendance on V day! The venue was Suntec and program of the day is "The shopping game". Although seemingly childish, we had a great time playing it. 2 groups of brothers and sisters were supposed to list down 3 times they think represent love from Carrefour and give hints to the other group on the items. Then both groups get half hour to go "buy" the stuff and meet somewhere. In the end, sisters got all 3 items correct and brothers got NONE correct. Talk about knowing each other well? I think we sisters are the more "we can read your mind" bunch. Haha....

I was supposed to plan V day this year for my hubby and we had a simple dinner followed by drinks after at a german bistro. Though simple, it was just nice to spend time alone with each other, especially after the gruesome 2 weeks of reservice that HJ just attended. Nah we dint have any gifts for each other, though I was thinking if I received a surprise gift, that would be nice. :P

Realise I quite like to cook. But most dishes I cook are pretty standard. Maybe I should start looking at recipes and be more experimental. But HJ's taste buds are pretty selective, which makes it more challenging to prepare meals! But the kway teow I cooked last night went down his tummy pretty fast. Hah!

I finally received my birthday present from hubby couriered from US. Its something that I have been eyeing for a long long time. YAY! Now its mine mine mine!

Emma is growing up to be a super cute baby. I really love her to bits! Can't wait for the day she can call me "AUNTIE FAITH!!" Aww....

Guess what? I have set a goal for myself. To be achieved by end Mar. It is tough but I am sure I can do it. Let you know by end March!

You know the other day I was talking to my old fren on msn. He was sharing with me that he is very nice to his gf in all areas. Including buying her anything she likes and being nice to her. He was worried that him being so nice to her, might lead to her taking him for granted.

But I told him that girls like and appreciate that their bfs are nice to them. And there isn't really any limit to being nice to your gf.

He said, "Don't know le...I will just be myself"

I like that. "Just be myself"
How many times do we worry about this, worry about that, worry about how this person thinks of me, how that person thinks about what I am doing.
Is this how we are going to live our life?

Memories of 2008

As the 1st signs of 2009 are near, I will bid 2008 farewell with fond memories....

2008 was the year

We went for our honeymoon

We spend V-day at our new house which was not renovated then

We designed, renovated, bought furniture and shfited into our new love nest

We experienced challenges in finances but was blessed with God's timely providence

We went for Singapore's 1st night race together

We cooked together, I think the 1st meal was porridge with veggie dish (by me) and chilli fish (by haojun)

We drove up to Malacca in our own car (the furthest we have drove in our car!)

We bought our very 1st Xmas tree and decorated it together

We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary

We had our 1st Xmas party at our house with family and friends

We welcomed the 1st grandchild in my family Emma Lee!!!

I found the best job ever

I learnt more about myself

I experienced God's grace and goodness again and again

I realised the importance of fellowship

I felt happy most of the days

And last but not least,

I felt so happy in my marriage. I always thought it was difficult for 2 persons who grew up differently to stay in the same house together.

But in 2008, I realised its such a breeze and so wonderful to stay with the one you love and marry.

So farewell to 2008 and its another 11 hours and 7 mins to 2009.

With my dear CG and some new friends and some old friends we came together for a potluck party. The amount of food was super. Check it out!

Presents for gift exchange! This year we played darts to select the presents as well as the traditional "Choose your present if you don't like the one you picked from the ones before u!"

Xmas eve was spent at home with Chef Aw whipping up a Xmas dinner!

Haha....We feel so blessed to be able to have such a nice nice home and a nice nice Xmas tree!

It was fun piecing up the Xmas tree as well as decorating the tree and the house for the parties.

Of course besides the food, fun, party, gifts and wonderful moments, it is exceptionally meaningful that we celebrate the birth of Christ and give thanks to the Lord for willingly coming onto earth as Man to accomplish God's Will and to save us from all sins.

Looking forward to the next Xmas!!!

We celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary 1 week in advance as we are heading for church camp this weekend!

I love Sheraton. The service is great, the ambience is great, the suites are nice and the details they pay attention to is super. We thought it would be nice to go back for anniversary stays every 5 years. That would be sweet!

As we were getting ready to go for a swim, the doorbell rang.
HJ who was trying to open the ironing board threw the board on the floor and rushed to the door.
I was thinking, "Must be the Straits Times they mentioned they would send to our room.
From far I heard," Sir, your flowers."
Flowers??? I rushed out to the living room and saw a bouquet of white roses!!!!!
I was super excited! The last time hubby sent me flowers was 2 years ago during my birthday. That time was purple roses sent to my office.

The flowers made my day! :)

Went for a swim after that as I wanted to visit the pool. We din't manage to squeeze in any time for a swim on our wedding stay. It was a relaxing afternoon.

As evening approached, we got dressed and got ready for dinner. Sheraton had such a festive Xmas ambience that I couldn't help but take a few shots with the Xmas decorations.

Anniversary dinner was at Basilico, The Regent.

There was a complimentary cake from the restaurant!

But we didn't manage to finish the cake because we ordered dessert as well.

Haha...

Celebrations aside, I think our 1st year of marriage was wonderful. I think our understanding of each other deepen and we didn't face any problems living with each other. In fact I really enjoy this new life with my hubby. He takes such good care of me.

I had a wonderful time fellowshipping with CG last Sat at our home!

We had sharing led by sister Lizhen and we prayed for one another. We decided that we will review these prayer requests next time we have prayer and sharing again, which is a pretty cool idea, keep track of God's goodness!

It was Wenrou and Jason's birthday celebration and we ordered in KFC, Pizza and a cake.

It wasn't over after the CG as we headed for a pool session and dinner. We ate at this taiwanese porridge place that serves free flow sweet potato porridge and rice. Yum! It was a nice dinner. Some brothers can really eat! Oh my....7 of us ordered 8 dishes *Brothers can eat 3 bowls of rice!!!*

Sisters playing pool....the brothers were at the next table and some brothers were analysing Makansutra 2009 thinking of where to head for dinner.

After dinner we even headed to HV for some desserts as we had some vouchers leftover from Bro and Sis day which was expiring so in the end we did not pay a single cent for the 2 desserts. Yay! We are so blessed! :) And to share about another blessing (double blessing), we parked our car at Chip Bee Gardens (illegal park) and cos WY found a space 1st so he went off to the restaurant with the rest 1st while me and HJ circled around for a lot. After parking, while we were preparing to cross the road at the junction, we saw the Traffic Inspector!! We immediately tarik and I whipped out my phone to call WY. He actually ran back from the restaurant and we were saved from summons! haha!!

These days looking at my CG, I can taste God's goodness in our CG and I really give thanks to the Lord for strengthening our CG. So many of us from different walks of life but the Lord put us together! As I shared in the CG last week, the sisters in the CG really motivate me and they are the ones who can help me along in this walk with God and I am very grateful! :)

She is such a sweetie pie.
When she is in a good mood, she will play and smile.
She loves it when you keep on talking to her and she will let out some sounds as if she is conversing with you.
She loves to do aerobics and you can see her arms and legs swinging non stop all the time.
Oh boy her legs are full of strength!
My parents adore her like a princess and so do me and hubby.
If I don't see her for more than a week, I will start missing her already!!
I love love her!

Counting down to the holidays!

Here I am in office, counting down to the long weekend.
Hurray! Sat, Sun and Mon to play and rest. And everyday also got plans already!!
Last night at 11.40pm, I heard hubby pulling out the ice tray. Thereafter, he came into our bedroom with a pack of potato chips and a mug of soft drink.
Oh man! Temptation!!
How could I have eaten potato chips so late in the night?
I told myself, "Ok la a few potato chips wouldn't hurt."
BUT!! When the potato chips entered my mouth, they tasted exceptionally nice!!!!!!!!!!!
Why Why Why??
Soon after I was eating the potato chips like I was in the movie theatre.
Munch Munch Munch....Gulp Gulp Gulp (7 up)
I was full of regrets before bed.

It was raining cats and dogs when I left office for home yest.
So I borrowed my company's umbrella and headed to the MRT station.

As I was crossing the road holding the umbrella, I heard "Buzz Buzz"....
What's that?
I saw a Mozzie seeking shelter under my umbrella!!!
Oh man I tried to swipe it away but it flew back under my umbrella soon after.

"Ok Mozzie.....If you don't bite me I will keep you from being wet."

Thinking back it was pretty cute sharing an umbrella with a mozzie.

The night ended with supper at MOS burger which was around 11pm already. Only at that point, hubby told me he was super tired.

This year;s Brothers and Sisters day was a laid back chill out night with each other's company at Holland Village where we dressed up and met up for a nice dinner.

The brothers were really sweet to get each of us flowers and each a surprise perfume gift!

For us sisters, we exercised creativity and got them a toilet bowl each. HAHA!

F1 Racing Weekend!

Halo Everyone!
It's a Friday and I am in a jolly good mood! Hee hee.... Cos weekend's gonna be here in half an hour more! Yay!
I will be meeting with up with my friends for dinner and I'm really looking forward because of Ichiban Sushi. Haha...Yeah I have a penchant for the soft shell crab handroll, the chawanmushi, the spicy lobster salad and also the Salmon Sashimi. Yum yum!!! Not forgetting being able to catch up with my friends!
You know what? Me and hubby will be going to watch the actual F1 race this sunday! We only bought the walkabout tickets but I so hope we will be able to catch the action and take some nice pictures. Its really quite cool to be part of the world's 1st night race and I am quite excited about the race. Actually I'm not a F1 fan but I guess being part of history is pretty cool.
Haven't got chance to load pictures of Emma but I can tell you she is quite a cool little lady. I love love her!! :)

The other day I failed my advanced theory test.
Me - I'm just not cut out for driving.... Haii...
Hubby - Don't worry I will drive you around for life!

Before bed, hubby was setting and testing out his alarm clock.
Me - Yikes! How come your alarm clock so soft one?
Hubby - Aiyah so it won't wake you up when it rings ma! Soft so it will only wake up me up!
After I wash up then I wake u up la!

Yesterday just when we were leaving the carpark on our way to my sis's house, my sis called and say she feels like eating mooncake, so just in time for us to turn into Toa Payoh central to buy some. As it was difficult to find a parking slot, I alighted to get the mooncakes. When I was done with buying, it was drizzling. I actually walked in the rain cos I didn't return to the car via the same route. Then I saw hubby holding an umbrella and waiting for me near where I alighted. Then hubby said," I knew it! I knew u will return from the other route! I sms u le, u never check rite?" Then he sheltered me to the car.
The message read, "Its raining. You wait for me at the roast meat there."

This morning I didn't follow hubby's car cos we were catching a show in the evening and he can leave work at 6pm if he reaches at 830am. I told hubby to wake me if it was raining and I will follow his car. It really did rain in the morning and he did wake me up but I was too tired to wake up. So in the end I went to work myself. Just as I was about to open the door to go out, I saw hubby's umbrella on the floor. I was very touched because I knew he went back to his car to get his umbrella for me and returned back to put the umbrella at home in the morning so I can use it on my way to work.

September is a busy month

September is a busy month.
It started with Emma's arrival on the 4th, which set everyone in the whole family full of excitement and love for the new baby. The very 1st baby in the mummy as well as daddy's side.
As Glenn claims, Emma is his "New Boss". Haha....
Following Emma's arrival was a mad frenzy of closing for me as I had to cover an Accountant's work before the replacement comes. That for me is quite a challenge as it's only been less than 2 months since I joined. But as usual, I love challenges as well as difficult tasks. It sets the adrenaline in my body and keeps me going.
The 2 housewarming we held last weekend really got me and hubby tired from all the cleaning and planning. But it was nice seeing everyone enjoying themselves with the food playing the Wii! Wow Wii mania is really catching on. We celebrated Aunt Billion's birthday and it was really wonderful.
Then came the reply from Sheraton that we will be able to shift our Anniversary stay forward to another date and this opened the option of being able to accept the honour of being in the Church Camp 2008 organising committee. Yes it will be a road trip to Malaysia and I am having mixed feelings about it. On 1 hand I feel so excited to drive to the Church camp desti with the other church pple. Imagine 1 whole string of S-Word cars! Haha...On the other hand I can't help but feeling worried about the safety of us driving in Malaysia. Hmm....maybe we should get walkie talkies...
Yesterday, had steamboat buffet with my Sbs kakis and went to John Little sale with them after dinner. It's always nice to meet up with them. In fact both of them are my chatting kakis on msn at work. Haha....We keep each other company thru that.
It will be another buffet today at Triple 3. I heard their buffet is really good and they serve a portion of lobster to each diner so we are gonna try that today.
Oh man all these food is causing my weight to escalate.

And I'm not done yet!!
Upcoming events this weekend included baby Matthias' 1 month celebration, Stephen Tong's gospel rally and my good pal WS's wedding on Sunday!
Erm and not forgetting the main event at the end of this month!!!

Finish the race "running"

I attended Pastor Jervin's Cats and Dogs theology for 2 sessions and I think I went home with bagfuls of knowledge and a deeper understanding of God and his works.

Basically, the Christian faith can be divided into 2 main categories. There are the cats, and there are the dogs.

Dogs will say:- You pet me, you feed me, you love me, you give me shelter. YOU MUST BE GOD!!

Cats will say:- You pet me, you feed me, you love me, you give me shelter. I MUST BE GOD!!

For me, its quite a Meow Meow Christian journey as I realised when I pray, I am always asking for God's blessings. "Oh Lord please don't let that happen"....Or..."Oh Lord please make that happen"

Nah....living the Christian faith shouldn't be like that. What we should be focusing on is God's glory and we should be His soldiers, ready to suffer for Him and surrender to Him our all. Though tough, we can start with the small things. At least the perspective should be correct.

Yesterday Pastor David Lee was using the Olympics 4x100m relay race to compare with the race we are running for God. The Americans who started off well in the relay but dropped the batons at the end, thus are disqualified at the end and didn't manage to finish the race. Its the same for us, Christians who mostly started off well running the race but do not end well. He urged us to step out and do more for God. Finish the race well.

He mentioned 1 day when we come face to face with Jesus, we wouldn't want Jesus to say, " Who are you? I do not know you. Did you put in anything to accomplish my will?"

On the same note, Pastor Jervin also illustrated a Christian who lives a good life vs a Christian who goes through suffering but is able to trust in God and lives through the suffering with God's grace and who is able to testify God's goodness. Do we want to live to say 80 years old, go to heaven and when we face the rest of the body of Christ as well as face Jesus, we have nothing to share about? The material things that we earn here cannot be brought to heaven. So we should focus on things that are eternal.

I am very motivated by God's message for the past 2 weeks.
Honestly I used to think that going for Caregroup is very boring and a waste of my time. And I used to ask Haojun why must we go for CG? I very bored le...I don't like to attend. I got better things to do.
But Pastor Jervin gave me the answer to my question. He explained that by going to CG, we are bringing blessings to others. Its not about how much we can get from going to the session and its not all about us. Its about how much we can bring to others.
This new insight has motivated me in this Christian race and picked me up back into the race.

Lovely Friday

Its Friday and its a great Friday cos I am on half day today!
Yippee!! Quite a pity cos my boss is away in China these 2 days and its really quiet and peaceful.
But, no fret cos I will be going for Marriott High Tea with my dear mama, Debbie, Meiping and Emma.

Talking about Emma, I am waiting for her arrival. My very 1st niece. Honestly I can't wait to see her cos' the feeling of having a baby in the house is great! It will be so fun and lively! Yippee!!!
With all the hype over the 16 month maternity and increased baby bonus and increased childcare leave, everyone has been asking me when is my turn??

I'm thinking maybe by the time I am ready to have a baby, government would have increased the maternity to 20 months! Wahahha...
But I kinda like the idea of having my own kid in the house, guess the kid will change the dynamics of the family and add to more joy and fun in the house...But in the meantime Emma shall keep me company!!

Hmm...so recently where have I visited and tried that is new?

Seafood Paradise at Defu Lane
The must try is the signature JIN SHA crabs and seafood fried rice. Highly recommended by my colleague, me and hubby gave it a try few weeks ago and we were indeed not disappointed. The food is priced reasonably and taste was pretty good!

MOF at Parco Bugis
Met up with some old friends as well as ex boss for dinner at this stylish new Japanese Casual dining place at Parco Bugis Junction and I must say I fell in love with the Unagi stone rice, the wasabi salad (Yum!) and the exciting desserts. Its a great place for sharing with friends and catching up!

Cheese cake from DON's pie
This cheese cake is not too heavy and it ends off with a layer of biscuit that is coated with raspberry sauce. Really fell in love with this one!

Yummy Chiffon
Ok this one though not fantastic, tastes pretty good too. I especially like the banana flavoured chiffon cake which has very strong banana taste. This can be found at the Xchange at Tanjong Pagar

Ban Mian at Amara Hotel shopping arcade
You know I am quite a fan of ban mian. Especially the stall opposite my house which is quite good. But ever since I tasted the Amara Ban Mian, its never the same! The soup is tasty but not oily and the pork is well marinated with rich flavours. My new lunch love.....

That's all I have for the past few weeks...Though I really hope to try the WILD ROCKETS that Jason brought Serene for her birthday soon...Plus this restaurant GAGA which I saw on TV with the prawn pasta looking yum yum!

Small but BIG!

These days I have been pondering on how small things can make a big difference.

Last week my hubby helped me to dye my hair. It's not easy to dye hair cos the liquid stinks and plus hair being so long, it can get pretty messy.
Think he did a great job cos the colouring turned out to be very even and nice!
It's a darker colour as compared to my previous colour and I like it alot!

Last week on a few mornings my hubby made ham and cheese sandwich as well as margerine and jam sandwich for me to bring to work as breakfast.
His sandwiches are always yummy!

Most nights my hubby will help me rub my tired legs when we are watching tv together and it certainly feels very comfortable.

Weekday mornings he will wake up 1st, wash up before waking me up. Then he will make the bed. Sweeet............

Every morning he will send me to the mrt and just so that I won't reach work so early, he opt to start work at 9am and end at 630pm (Most of his colleagues start at 830 end at 6pm so its quite sian to be still in office at 630pm)

Weekends he will vacuum the whole house and it is pretty amusing to see him trying to suck up all the dust in the house including the dust on the living room coffee table and the skirting of the flooring.

Small things like these can be BIG! :)

Weekend well spent

I had a really good weekend.

It started off with a chill out session at home where me and dada opened a bottle of Chilean wine and I heated some sausages and seaweed chicken as accompaniment. Actually I enjoy being knocked out after drinking and have a really deep and peaceful rest after the drinks.

Saturday was spent resting at home followed by Augustine and Benedict's birthday party at the Botanic Gardens Jacob Ballas Children Center. Its my 1st time there and I dint know such a place existed. I had a good time catching up with Jayna which has just returned from Melbourne.

Me and hubby had afternoon tea at the new CANELE at Scotts. It was nice to just sip coffee, have cakes and chit chat. That was followed by retail therapy where I bought a pair of shoes, a ring, a bracelet and some sun block. Hubby bought a pair of Lacoste slippers which is pretty cool looking....

Dinner was durians at Geylang. Wow its really the durian season man! Even 3 for $10 durians taste so good! Oh man I love love durians!

Movie week

Hmmm....

Answer:
1) Both were watched this week. 1 on Wed and the other on Thurs
2) Both were free! We did not pay a cent for them. My clever hubby won free tickets to both. Steady!!

Haha...It's really great to be able to watch movies for free considering it costs so much to watch movies these days.

The Dark Knight was a blast. I really enjoyed myself watching this movie. Plus because it was a Safra event, and it was the premiere show, we saw many stars! Yes they were in the same cinema as well. They include Zoe Tay and hubby, Andrea De Cruz and Pierre Png, Lin Xiang Ping, Patricia Mok, the cute guy who acted together with Julian Hee (I don't know his name) and some others. Wow it was a great experience seeing them.

Last Monday night me and hubby decided to undertake the task of sticking up the wallpaper in our room. We had bought the wallpaper some time back but never had the chance to stick it. It was quite an experience as we mixed the glue, measured the wallpaper and attempted to stick up the strips of wall paper to form a complete wall, with continous patterns. I must say we did a superb job. Truly professionally done. However, we ended up super exhausted at the end of the day. It was a challenge as we had to depend alot on teamwork to stick up everything.

So next time when u come to my place, u will notice this beautiful artpiece in our bedroom, where we painstakingly did up! Ta-daa!!!

Another 20 mins and I can be off work. Yay its the weekends!
Hope we can chill at night with a bottle of wine and sausage cocktails and seaweed nuggets (which are still in the fridge currently)....

Tomorrow is Auggy and Ben's bday party. Will update again on their party! Can't wait to see them!

I love mini holidays

Last weekend was spent in Batam with my hubby. We stayed at this resort Harris Batam Resort which I suspect is run by a Singaporean because the cafe/restaurant charges SGD and even the in house massage/spa charges by SGD. We had a 1 hr massage each and I just love massage. Thinking back, the 1st massage that I went was last year where my hubby brought me to this wine massage at Ultimate Spa. All my life I have never imagined that I will enjoy massage because I am easily tickled and I don't like people touching me. But now I simply enjoy it! Haha...
We spent some time going down to Nagoya town where we had the chance to eat A&W. I like their curly fries and my hubby likes the root beer float. Too bad there isn't anymore A&W in Singapore anymore. There really isn't much to shop except for groceries and amenities at the supermarket which is generally cheaper than Singapore. We managed to get some stuff like Milo cereal and Koko Krunch and body foam. Back at the resort we also had a few games of bowling which is pretty cheap ($2.50 per game). Actually its the 1st time me and HJ bowled alone, just the 2 of us and it was pretty fun! Before we took the ferry back, we also bought some donuts for our families! yum yum...

So back from our mini holidays and I am feeling pretty much rejuvenated.
Back in Singapore, we experienced black out again at home (The 2nd time since we shifted in) and when it happened, I was lying on bed watching the 9pm volleyball show and hubby showering. At 1st he thought I was playing a fool with him by switching off the lights and heater. Haha...poor thing...He had to shower in the dark and with cold water. The black out lasted almost 1 hr and as I am one who is scared of darkness, I whipped out the aromatherapy candle that my sister bought us for last Christmas and lighted it. Oh man what am I to do when my hubby goes for reservice and it blacks out? :(
We spent the 1 hr eating durian in the dark (We bought durian earlier) and it was HJ's turn to read out the bible out loud so using the torch, he read the bible. Shortly after that, electricity resumed and it was great! We still could catch the last 10 mins of the channel U 10pm show.
No more black outs please!!!!

Peaceful night....

It's 8.15pm and I am still in office. Though late, it feels very peaceful and good this mood gets my mind thinking of alot of things about life...
Recently one of my church friend's dad passed away in his sleep. We were all very shocked to receive news of his death early Sunday morning as it happened very suddenly, without any warning. This actually gives me a wake up call in 2 areas.

1) It made me feel stronger about the pricelessness of our souls. God gives and takes away his His time and it is not up to us to control. Our souls once lost, will be lost eternally and this reminds me to spread the gospel to my loved ones. Especially my dad,who is still a free thinker. But its just so hard....But I know through prayers God can work miracles.

2) It made me feel stronger about how I treat people. As you never know when you will go, the same goes for people around you. So I have decided not to stay angry at people for long and also to be nice to everyone to the best of my ability. I also learnt to treasure times with my family especially my parents and 2 sisters because time waits for no man....

Last friday I had a girls' night out with JY, LX and LB. We had dinner at Spageddies and watched Sex And the City afterwards. Wow its a great show man! Highly recommended. As usual it feels good to meet up and catch up with friends. What made me really happy was during the show I received an sms from my hubby asking me to call him after my show is over cos he is waiting around Orchard area so he can pick me after the show. I was very happy because it means so much! Plus he bought me Godiva chocolates! This time a metal tin of mini chocs. Yummy! Heee....

It's almost a month since we moved into our new and all I can say is...
I'm loving it!!!!!!!
Nothing feels more like home.
Today our sofa set just arrived and slowly pieces of furniture are falling into place.
We started off with only 1 tv and I bed.
Thinking back, it is really God's grace that we are able to build this home together and amazing hae enough money to build this nest. Without Him looking after us, it would not been possible.
We attended Zion's 1 month birthday just now and he is so tiny and so cute! Can't imagine for 9 months he was in Dorcas' tummy. I think there were more than 10 babies at her house and I must admit I really love kids. Gabriel who is a chirpy and fun loving baby. Jayden who looks blur but is super cute when he looks at you and pouts and Christabelle who's face is so angelic. Can't wait for my sister's baby to arrive.
Alot of them asked me when is my turn and I just said, "Not so soon la!!"
Haha.....I guess for me and HJ, its about settling into our married lifes 1st.
Ever since I changed jobs, seriously it was been very very crazy. Late nights almost every night and honestly I don't even have time for myself and friends and family during the weekdays anymore. The work pace is very fast and I am expected to multi-task like 5 things at 1 go. I am wondering how long more can I tahan this job. But I guess for my future I will. After all I intend to be a stay home mummy for a while before I join the work force again so I will need a tidy sum of savings.
The other day we ate at this Sichuan Dou Hua Restaurant on top of UOB plaza and the food was superb. But when I received the bill, I almost fell off my chair. Why?
The PU-ER tea costs $6.50 per person and the chilli sauce caused $2 per person.
Oh my goodness. Actually I was very angry at the waitress cos fruit juice costs only $7 and they seem to be ripping us off by charging us $6.50 each for chinese tea? So guys, if you decide to eat at Si Chuan Dou Hua, do not drink their tea, lest you end the meal angry like me!
By the way I am surfing net on my new MaxMobile which is this USB port thingy that allows you to surf net anywhere on the island. It's quite super actually, as this allows you absolute mobility! Heee....Hmm....I'm hungry already....Think I am in the mood for sushi and wine.

It was a super HOT day on Saturday and in the sweltering heat, we managed to make 3 trips back from AMK to TPY with our Picanto fully utilised to the brim with all our stuff. It's really amazing how much stuff our mini picanto can pack in. Really thankful for this car that made moving house a breeze. However, cos we did not have any help in shifting our stuff, we actually had to a make a few trips up and down from the AMK house to the car and it was very tiring. But after it all,when we laid on our Sealy bed at night which is laid with fresh bedsheets and with our Sony Bravia right in front of us, it was all worth it.

Yes we have officially moved into our renovated but unfurnished flat. The feeling of having our own space and flat is really super. Even though the house is pretty much empty, it just feels so much like home.....

Was really inspired at church on Sunday when Pastor Francis spoke about facing challenges and difficulties. The past week at my new job had been really crazy and it almost drove me up the wall and all sorts of negative thoughts just kept flashing past my mind. But through his sermon, I could feel God speaking to me and I can just feel His support with me. That just keeps me going, really. After all, He is in control.

You know what? I was really happy today when my dada told me that we should be able to move into our new place in 2 weeks. YES!! Our very own nest, where I can cook whatever I like anytime and I can have the freedom to laze around the house and be in the comfort my my own privacy! I am so so happy! Yesterday we went to confirm our mattress order from Sealy at IMM. I like their plush feeling and we ended up spending quite a bomb on the mattress cos we bought a higher end one. But I think its worth it cos mattress can sleep for 10-15 years so can last for quite a while lo..... We also went to purchase a bed at the Furniture Mall which I feel like quite sleek looking.

So this is it....finally after almost half a year of staying at dada's place....I just can't wait!!!

Anyway this week is the last week I will be working in SBS Transit. Praise God he has given me a better offer and I am moving on to another company which is taking my career to another level higher. Really thank God for this opportunity and for his blessings. Thursday will be my last day with the company and I do feel a little mixed feelings. Sad to leave my colleagues but happy to be advancing on in my career. I just thank God I have made such good friends at SBS and with me I bring all the beautiful memories......

Afternoon Tea....yummy

HJ suggested that we go have afternoon tea at Sheraton Towers on Sat.

We did and though it was kinda pricey to have like 11 pieces of snacks and coffee/tea, it was nice relaxing in the lobby lounge of the hotel we held our wedding 5 months ago. Doesn't the 3 tier tray look very pretty?

Saturday meals for us have changed to Brunch, Tea and Supper. And supper yesterday was at Founder's Bak Kut Teh at Balestier. Have u ever tried eating Bak Kut Teh at 11 pm at night? I initially thought that there wouldn't be many people. To my surprise, Bak Kut Teh is actually a favourite supper location for Singaporeans. Though this Bak Kut Teh can't beat the one at Joo Chiat, we still managed to down 1 bowl of rice each. The plus point of this shop is that they will keep coming round to give u soup refills without you calling for them and the refills are of the same standard! Not like some shops which serve u dilutes. haha....

Oh man weekend always flies so fast....I don't want it to end....

We went to this place RedDotBrewHouse at Dempsey yesterday night (I vaguely remembered Eunice mentioning that this chill out place is pretty nice)
The overall ambience as well as the decor was pretty "chill-out" feel with dim lights and alfresco seating. They actually brew their own beer and me and Irvin eat had a different beer. I can't remember the name of the beers but the one I ordered was very much nicer than the one Irvin ordered, who was far too bitter. In fact, the bitter taste stayed in the mouth for a long time. It's been quite a long time since we visited any chill out place and it was nice relinquishing the old times.
Today, we went down to our new place to see the progress of our renovations and to settle some decisions (Final stage) which we had to before anything could proceed. Actually we cracked our brains the night before to finally come to a conclusion for everything in the house and I am so glad that things went well today when we told Irvin's uncle our ideas and finalisation. Thank God! Besides that, we also went down to Jln Besar and got the kitchen and toilet taps as well as a ceiling fan for the living room. We picked a nice looking fan in sleek black which I feel will suit the house well. Great! So what left to do is actually to buy 3 more lights and 10 more down lights as things should be 90% done.
Today I led bible study for the 1st time. We studied Jonah 2 which is a prayer Jonah made while he was swallowed by a Big Fish. Thank God everyone was very participative and Yizhuang was there to give me support and facilitate the bible study. I am so glad it went on smoothly!
Irvin is in the kitchen now boiling an egg to rub the bruise on my face cos I actuallyt fell down the stairs last friday and hit my cheek! It's all bruised and it's the 3rd time he is boiling an egg to help me rub. Thanks dear for the sweet gesture!!! :))
Am eating too much lately. I realised when you meet up with friends you tend to eat more. Maybe cos you are happy to see them? Haha...That's what's been happening to me lately and I think I better watch that flabby tummy of mine!!!!

Decision making aint easy

This past week had been real hectic as many changes are going on in my life which are coming from my new house and my work.

Decisions, decisions, decisions. This word seems to be hanging around pretty often in my life.
When it comes to what designs to pick for the house, how many aircons do I intend to place in the house, which brand aircon to buy, the designs for the lights for the house, whether to build a platform or a divider for the living/dining area, what colour for the walls, what type of basins for the toilets and kitchen, what colour for the walk in wardrobe, what colour for the kitchen, what colour for the shoe rack, what colour for toilet tiles, what floor tiles, whether to add in a door for the kitchen, whether to cover the bomb shelter,blah blah blah.....Lots of decision making points!

Same for my work. WHICH ONE???? Yikes!!! Confused man! Oh Lord please help me make a wise decision at the end of the day.

A very consoling news is that I received my bonus letter recently and I am pretty pleased with the additional sum of money that has come in, so today I got myself a COACH bag! Hee....Me just got a soft spot for these bags...hahaha!!! YIPPEE!!! :)

I loved how the eve of Good Friday, Good Friday and today was spent.
Eve of Good Friday was spent at church's Maundy Thursday service where we commemorate the death of Jesus Christ our Saviour. It was nice to see so many people turning up for this service. Me and Irvin only grabbed a Bao and Iced Milo before the service so we headed to TONG SHUI along Thomson Road for dinner or rather supper after the service. Ordered a Cheesy Chicken Wings baked rice to share and it turned out to be pretty yummy.

Friday morning I managed to wake up early so I joined Irvin in his journey to church for song practice. He dropped me at IMM and I had some time alone there till he picked me up after his practice. Oh Boy I had such a happy time there! Ate some traditional toast and coffee breakfast and headed off for shopping! I really enjoy the shopping as I haven't actually shopped for quite a while. BYSI was having a SUPER SUPER SALE so I actually spent like over an hour in the shop! Haha!! Bought 5 items, each only costing 9 bucks! Can you imagine? I was so happy happy happy to have picked up my treasures! Hee hee....

Irvin picked me up after and we headed to Orchard cos we haven't been shopping in town since don't know when. Had lunch at KAM Boat where we ordered DIM SUM. Yummy! Dim sum is one of my favourites! But the dim sum there can't really fight the one at Crystal Jade and THE BOSSES at VIVO. Anywayz, we walked around form Isetan to Tangs to Taka and finally sat down at Coffee Bean for some drinks. COFFEE! We joined Alan at AMK Macs in the evening as both of the gentlemens needed to do their project. So I spent some time wandering around in AMK before meeting them again for some prata at Casuarina Road. The prata there is one of Irvin and Me's favourite. Especially the KOSONG which is crispy and fluffy. But watch out for the iced TEH cos it really sucks! Haha.....

Today we needed to beat the ERP and get to Orchard before 12 noon so that Irvin can borrow his books from his school library. When we awoke it was already 11am! Yikes! We washed up at top speed and managed to escape the ERP. Bad thing was that the book Irvin required was on loan to someone else. Wasted trip! But I brought Irvin to eat this very yummy Tom Yum Fish bee hoon at Whampoa market! That is my absolute favourite!!! (Erm I seem to have lots of favourites, don't I???) Headed down to Katong Complex to take a look at kitchen sinks as well as toilet sinks and kitchen hobs. I don't really fancy the metal ones, rather prefer the granite ones. The selection aint enough so I guess we need to go down to GAIN CITY tomorrow!

I'm pretty excited about my new home. It will be a very simple renovation but I will try my best to spruce it up with special decorations! We went to see the status of the house reno today and finally the floor tiles are up! Great! But I was pretty surprised to see the area that was meant to be for the platform being covered by tiles as well. I initially thought that area was going to be hollow inside and just covered by the wooden platform. Oh man...what a waste of the floor tiles. I checked with Irvin if having tiles under the platform was his understanding and he told me the discussion on this sort of hung in the air previously and this outcome wasn't really discussed and confirmed. Hmmm....This leave me wondering if it was worth it to cover the beautiful tiles with another layer of wooden platform? Oh man....DILEMMA!! Help me!!!

Had a great CG time today at Weipeng's house, prayer and sharing led by my hubby Irvin. It was wonderful! We prayed using the acrostic P.R.A.Y. which stands for Praise, Repentance, Ask someone else for his/her prayer item and Your own prayer item. I really enjoyed the session and I must say I really enjoy the inclusion of Ronald's CG in our group. They bring in so much life and new ideas and this really makes the CG time a great bonding session! Hee.....Oh yup after CG me and Irvin went for our favourite HAATO ice cream at Serangoon Gardens. YUMMY!!!!!!!!

I must say I really enjoy married life. My hubby is really my favourite! :)

Home Sweet Home

We're back! Actually we have been back for a week already....just that I am too lazy to blog....Hee....

This trip was super. I love the Aussie way of life and I absolutely love the weather! Cooling and shiok....Adelaide is a nice and relaxing place to visit. Plus my tour guide Irvin knows the place really well after his stay there for 2 weeks and we travelled on they public buses. public trams and their public o-bahn!

Thanks to my hubby, he had the 8 days itinery all planned out for us so basically I just followed him! So I'll just introduce to you guys the highlights of our trip!

Day 1 Glenelg beach and Gorge wildlife park

If you notice, Glenelg is spelt that way from the front and from the back. Pretty cool eh? Its a beautiful beach where most of the local pple like to hang out. Me absolutely loved it. Too bad we didn't have the time to go back a 2nd time.

Irvin had a wild time feeding the animals at the wildlife park with Arnotts biscuits. The kangaroos kept following him and there was this papa Kangaroo which was pretty scary and huge. We also had the chance to carry tyhe Koala which smells really nice to my surprise!

Day 2 Hahndorf

This is a german town in South Australia which was built by the Germans back in the old days. It is pretty cool as the streets and shops on both sides are pretty European. Had a great time relaxing there.

Day 3 Haigh's chocolate factory and Kangaroo Island

Visited one of the local famous chocolate factory. It serves real yummy chocs! Expensive though....

In the afternoon we packed our bags and the tour bus picked us up for our trip to Kangaroo Island, which is 45 mins away from South Australia by ferry.When we reached there it was already 7 plus and we dabao some pizza and garlic bread and ate by the benches near the beach.

Day 4 Kangaroo Island - Seal Bay, Flinder's Chase National Park, Remarkable Rocks and Admiral Arch

This day was amazing. We had close encounters with Seals at the beach where they stay on, spotted Koalas in the wild, went on the Remarkable Rocks which moved over time and saw black sealions at the Admiral Arch. Beautiful natural sights.

Day 5 Kangaroo Island and my belated birthday dinner at The Red Oche

(Will update again on photos as am feeling read tired from loading currently...laters!)

We departed from Kangaroo Island and headed back to Adelaide city for shopping!!! In the evening, Irvin brought me to a nice glass restaurant by the lake to celebrate my birthday for me. He actually checked out with his friends where he can bring me and I was quite touched! It was beautiful and I will always remember this birthday!

Day 6 Barossa Valley, World's largest rocking horse, Whispering Wall

Ooh this day was my absolute favourite. We visited 4 wineries in all and tasted lots of wine. We bought 3 bottles in all and managed to bring them back to Sg safely! The wineries are absolutely beautiful! I love this trip!

Day 7 Victor Harbor and Murray River

Today was a scenic drive down the south with stops in between at some small towns. Pretty relaxing and picturesque. The day ended with shopping at the local Adelaide chinatown.

Day 8 Home sweet home

Flight home was at 1.55pm and we had pancakes at this place that the tour guide recommended us. Pretty special place which is opened 24 hours.

Flying off in approx 2.5 hrs

In 2.5 hours I will be flying off to Adelaide....
What's special about this flight is that I will be travelling all alone! My very 1st flight alone...
I feel a little worried and tense....cos I aint sure who will be sitting next to me and am aint sure if I am able to get aisle seats...
Will be transiting in Melbourne....Yikes....
This journey seems complicated!!
But what I am looking forward to is seeing Dada at the airport tomorrow morning!

Lord I pray that you grant me a peaceful heart as I travel alone tonight and that you bless my journey with safety. Amen.

Although Irvin is not in Singapore, he handed me a sealed paper bag before he left and told me not to open until my birthday. I did as he told.

On 26th Jan 12.01am, I opened the paper bag in excitement. I found a cute card with lots of cute bears, the message inside was sweet! Besides the card, I found a COACH dust bag! Wow! I opened the dust bag excited but was puzzled to find Irvin's bag inside. Plus a note that read:-

Your present is hiding somewhere in your room!

QUICK FIND IT!!

I laughed like mad. I love surprises man! Haha....I searched everywhere in my room but couldn't find any present. Got a bit disappointed when I tried searching every corner but couldn't find a thing. My sister popped into my room and asked," Looking for something??"

From her facial expression I could tell that she was part of Irvin's plan! I asked her if she knew where my present was and she gave me some hints. Finally I found my present!!!!!!!!!! A Coach bag! Yay!

I found out subsequently that Irvin actually came by my home on his own 1 day without my knowledge to hide my present! He told my family not to tell me. I find that very sweet. Thanks dada for the surprise and the present! I love it!

Well...though this year I don't have dada by my side to celebrate my bday for me, I had a wonderful birthday.

Back to being Hougang Girl

Last saturday, My hubby left for Aussie for his on-campus study. I sent him off at the airport and headed home myself.
Yeah me am back being an Hougang girl! Hee hee....It feels great to be home. Mum cooks good dinner everyday and I dont need to worry about what to eat after work each day!
Plus I have the company of both my sisters and we have crazy times together! haha!
But I miss my dada! ;(
Last night we skyped! It was the 1st time that I tried talking to someone over the mic and headphones. It was pretty fun and I was quite surprised that it turned out to be very clear, as if we were talking on the phone. We chatted for around 1 hour. It's really nice to hear his voice.
Oh I can't wait to go to Aussie. But my leave aint approved yet. Oh Lord I pray that it gets approved fast!!! Can't wait to see the clear blue sky, go stay in the wineries! Taste the fresh wines! MMmmmmmm......
Can't wait to see my dada!!!

Had a great steamboat gathering sometime back last Sat at my old schoolmate Jeck's house.

Surprisingly the steamboat prepared by him was pretty yummy! haha....It was nice catching up withthem since my wedding. The highlight of the night was the WII that Yihan brought to Jeck's house. 9 of us took turns to play on the WII. Games include Tennis, Baseball, Bowling and Boxing. I liked boxing the most but it was pretty tiring to box virtually. You can imagine how comical we all looked boxing in the air! haha....The winner of boxing is definitely Ah Min who won hands down. Oh man Fuming better watch out. I was very touched when during the game, Jeck started to sing birthday song and brought out a cake. For those of you who don't know, me and Min share the same birthday, 26th Jan. So we were really surprised when they brought out the cake cos it was only the 4th!!! Hee....Oh man I love surprises! And it feels good to have such good friends who remember my birthday after all these years. Come to think of it, it's been 10 years since JC days....time really flies....

My arms actually ached for a few days after the WII session. SOLID rite?

Last night me and Irvin went for dinner at this restaurant along Boat Quay called DALLAS.

He won a $250 dinner from this restaurant including a bottle of wine. We really thank God for this free dinner which turned out to be very delicious! The menu for the night started with wine from South Africa.

For Appetiser, Irvin had Clam Chowder soup while I had this special prawns wrapped in Bacon and with Mango sauce. This dish is perhaps the yummiest appetiser I've ever tasted.

For Mains, I had lobster!! Irvin had his favourite steak. When my main was served, I was super excited cos I never imagined the lobster to be so big!! heee heeee.....

Dessert was Warm chocolate cake with haagan dazs ice cream and cheesecake. We actually dabao the cheese cake cos we were really too full.

The dinner was delicious. Hubby thanks for entering the contest! Lord thank you for the meal!

On the 1st day of 2008....

Spent New Year's at East Coast, giving Hachi some exercise and fresh air.

It was meant to be a fun day walking the dog with my sister until Hachi starting to leave his momentos all over the place, at least 3 times from the start to the end of the walk.

Yucks!! Owning a doggie is tough. Lots of commitment to care for a little pooch. But seeing him so cute really cheers me up. This doggie is such a mild and friendly dog. His tail swings 180 degrees every time you come home and he loves to play catch! Plus he is a super greedy dog who sticks to anyone with food. From young I saw him grew up. Now he is really big compared to when he 1st came.

You know havnig close contact with him in the car really gave my nose a hard time. He was so smelly! We headed home to my place after his walk and my sister gave him a bathe, followed by a mini hair trim and she also tried to cut his super long nails but he resisted. Anyway my mum really likes Hachi alot. She kept feeding him bread and was worried that he was hungry. The way she talks to him is so cute! Like talking to a little kid. I can imagine how fat my kid will be under her care next time. Haha....

Mummy cooked steamboat and my cousin came over too. I love to eat mum's cooking. So yummy! Nowadays dinners are usually eaten out. Sian. I MISS MAMA's cooking!!! ;(

2007 brings a smile to my face as I look back on 2007.

A year that is significant to both me and my hubby as we spent the year planning on our wedding, mini post wedding trip, decisions made to study a degree course, decisions made to purchase our 1st car. God's blessings on us where we experienced his love as well as the love from our friends and family. 2007 is truly a special year.

And 2007 ended well too! With a Christmas party at my house organised by my mum for the 1st time. With the whole family sitting around to open presents together from beneath the Mini Xmas tree that was put it. It was really fun! With my new found friend's wedding to new friendships that have forged among my teammates at work. With birthday celebrations for my hubby by his family for the 1st time. With a truly spectacular birthday celebration for my hubby that burnt a hole in my pocket!

2008 started with beautiful fireworks.

With a new beginning, a new life that I share with my hubby. With my new alarm clock that is super persistent in the mornings. With new laughter and joy in the house and with someone to snuggle in and hug to sleep at night. It's all so sweet to me.

I am so looking forward to our Aussie trip in Feb.

It's Christmas day and I wanna wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! Holidays holidays and more holidays! Had a very wonderful wedding almost 3 weeks ago and am really thankful for all the help from my brothers and sisters! I really enjoyed myself!

And now I am officially Mrs Yuen. Feels kinda nice when I hear Haojun mention me as his wife. Hee....but staying away from my family feels weird initially...but now I am more or less settled into this new lifestyle.

Oh Man! Now I gotta do housework. The other day I just mopped the entire house. Feels pretty good to have a clean house to stay in. It's not too bad to do housework actually...But not too much please thank you hor dear!

Our post wedding trip to Taipei was really FUN FUN FUN! The weather was quite cold le...16 degrees. I really love cold weather. Smelling the cool and fresh air. It is my 3rd trip to Taipei but is Irvin's 1st. I visited quite a few new places this round that dint seem familiar to me. I love the Ah Zong Mian Xian there as well as the Xiao Long Baos. SUPER ymmy man! Not forgetting steamboat!! Mala steamboat!! I LOVE LOVE STEAMBOAT!!!

My wedding pictures will only be ready 2 months after my wedding. Oh man such a long wait. But nevermind la....cos our photographer business good ma....The videographer also did a GREAT job at the dinner with the express highlights of the church wedding as well as the morning zhuang men. Really grateful to him man! Kevin and Sam!

Have been shopping alot of Christmas gifts and have been signing my cards so many times that I start to feel a little worried. But i guess they are all money well spent as they are spent on loved ones. I got myself a new PDA phone!! Me and Irvin and got ourselves a pair of shades which is pretty cool. It was a special day as Irvin came to my house to Guo Da Li. Though this event is a traditional event, it was overall fun and added to the hype of the pre-wedding mood! Irvin came with 30 boxes of cakes, 28 oranges, 1 PIN JIN ang bao, 1 LIU LI ang bao, Si Dian Jin and 4 cans of pig trotters! Can't believe its 11 days to our wedding. Me getting the jitters already! Tried this fish steamboat recommended by my colleagues yesterday evening. It is a stall in Whampoa market and its amazing to see how many patrons such a small stall can attract. When we go there, the entire hawker roll is already swamped with people enjoying the steamboat. The smell of the fish steamboat got me really excited and super hungry! We ordered the smallest set and opted for fish meat instead of fish head. We waited in anticipation for our steamboat to be served. Thankfully we only needed to wait 20 minutes as the people that followed behind us actually had to wait for more than 30 mins!
When the piping hot steamboat was placed in front of us, we had a taste of the soup and the flavour was bursting with salted fish! Super yummy man!!! In addition, we ordered a place of the famous duck meat and 2 bowls of rice. Can you imagine that everything only cost us $19.60? Super cheap and good food! I simply love such good food hidden in old hawker centers, they are the ones who retain the flavour and tastiness of real GOOD FOOD! I mean restaurants do serve good food but nothing beats such traditional food!
After dinner we decided to go for some wine. This time round we tried out a new place, Wine company at Evans road. To our surprise, the place was packed and we could only get seats in the alfresco area. HJ normally will opt for aircon seating. This ulu place actually can draw such crowds! Amazing man! We ordered a bottle of Chilean Merlot that tasted better after we aired it for a while. Had a nice time chatting and sharing. We simply love to chill out with wine. I was so tempted to order the lava chocolate cake with ice cream but HJ was too full to eat. Oh man! But I will be back to try their pasta the next time round!!!

It was its very 1st bath since its birth.
We decided we could no longer live with the layer of dirt on it any longer. Hee hee....
It's pretty fun to wash the car. Good exercise for my arms, legs and waistline. We did not realise how dirty our car was until we bathed it today. The cloth and water was black black black! haha! It's been a month since we gotten our car and I really enjoy the lifestyle change. I really stand to gain from HJ driving me here and there, fetching me to work and us going round the island searching for nice and cheap food. It's very comfortable to travel around and we really save alot of time during the weekends and can get alot more things done. I guess diverting our finances to this car instead of spending on other material purchases is a wise decision afterall. We used to have to hang around at coffee joints in orchard or city hall area to wait for CG time or to wait for dinner time appointments. But now the time can be used to rest at home as it only takes 15 to 20 minutes to travel back home to rest.
I love this new lifestyle. Really thank God for this comfortable lifestyle that he has blessed us with.
This morning we went to Marina Square at 11.30 am and there was hardly any crowd! I felt so happy as we ate our brunch and enjoyed the peaceful ambience of the shopping center. Had a look at the Adelaide fair that was held at Marina Square and gathered lots of info on Adelaide as we will be heading there sometime early next year. It's so exciting as we plan to drive up to Melbourne as well. I'm really looking forward to my Taiwan trip right after our wedding as well as this Aussie trip. Wanna go Barossa Valley and pick strawberries and go to the chocolate factory there! YAY!!!
Our wedding is drawing near and there are quite a few details to attend to. Wow....7 weeks to go. Boy am i getting a mixed feeling of excitedness and nervousness! ;P

Was at HJ company's DND the other day and it was quite an exclusive event. When I reached, I was pleasantly surprised to see my name on my designated seat. Cool. Never before have I attended and events where seats have already been planned for u. That set me thinking if I could do the same thing for my wedding. But I guess it would be very time consuming and chaotic on the day itself.

What left the deepest impression in me was when HJ introduced me to his boss and colleagues.
"This is my gf, Faith and wife-to-be"
Though only a few words, I had a special sensation in my heart when he said "wife-to-be"
It sounds so sweet. Never before he has introduced me in this manner.

I remember the 1st time HJ picked me up in car was on my 25th birthday. He had arranged dinner at night after work. I was awoken by a call from his office in the morning at around 745am. Well....by the time I was awake enough to pick up his call, he hung up. I washed up, got changed and got ready for work. Took the lift downstairs and got a surprise of my life! A car was horning at me and HJ was in it with flowers for me!!!!!!!! That was the 1st time he drove me around in a car. He joined NTUC Carcoop carsharing so that he could drive me around. Seriously I will never forget that special moment when I felt so loved!

But no more carsharing from today on....Yup we bought a car!!! And it was ready for collection this morning. It was a wet but exciting morning for us as we made our way down to Cycle and Carriage. This is the 1st car we own and the feeling is really special!!

Photoshoot was fun but tiring! We had to smile and pose the entire day, from 10 am to 8 pm!!!

We started with make-up and hairdo in the studio and proceeded for our casual shots 1st. Boy it was fun man! In our casual wear, HJ was very cheeky and funny, making the photoshoot a lighthearted one.

Next was evening wear followed by my wedding gown shot. I think I slimmed a bit since the last time they took measurements for me so the wedding gown seemed to be slipping down very often and I had a hard time pulling it up. Gotta make sure they alter my wedding gown tighter if not on the actual day I will be busy pulling my gown. Haha....We wore our wedding bands on the shoot (Thanks Sandra for delivering our rings on time!), wonder if it can be seen in the photos?

We brought what we both enjoy to the photoshoot. (Guess what? I think I will keep you guys in suspense till our BIG DAY) There was shot that we took on the swing, I was busy swinging myself on the swing and forgot to hold on to the sides. In the end I slipped and plonked on the floor. OUCH! Super painful man! Shucks.

For outdoor shots, we went to quite a few places, involving 2 buildings, 1 scenery and 1 row of peranakan shophouses (Which was a last minute venue that our photographer brought us as we had excess time before the night shot) I would say everything went quite well as the weather was great! A bit of sun but not too hot. Really thank GOD for his blessings. The day ended with a nightshot at fullerton. Wow I always wanted to take my wedding pics in front of fullerton and now we have!!! YAY! Really hope the photos will turn out well. But I think my face is too fat to look nice....sigh....

Our photographer is a nice dude who is young and quite full of energy. Thank GOD he taught us how to pose if not we would be pretty clueless as we don't really know how to pose.

Wonder when we will be getting our photos. Maybe I will call my bridal shop later. Heee......

Reminiscence of yesterday....

I remember last year on this day, me and Hj went to view fireworks at geylang. We found a good spot, though quite a distance from the stadium, where we could see the fireworks. Surrounding us were families and lots of people, like us, who were waiting for the same sight.
I remember last year on this day, in HJ's bag, was the proposal ring that now I am wearing on my finger. The difference was the ring stayed in his bag until 3 days later. haha....he wanted to propose to me while we watched fireworks but it was just too crowded, he was shy. In the end he proposed it his way....on the 12th Aug...

Work had not been too good. Sometimes I just don't agree with how things are done and how some bosses work. It's too much of a battlefield to be in at my workplace currently. These days I just grit my teeth when unreasonable requests and unreasonable comments come my way. It's strange why I never used to feel like this in this job? Perhaps God is telling me that He has a better place for me to work in. The other day 2 headhunters called me. One was Christian and he told me to pray about the job opportunity he had for me. We had a chat for 10 mins and throughout he kept reminding me of the relationship I am having with God and he was kept stressing the importance of our relationship with God. It's just strange how God send reminders to us. And I'm so amazed. Amazed at his works. These days had been bad also because I am sick. Caught the flu bug and my lips have swelled so much, like 2 sausages! HJ bought me a menthol lip balm which really helps in the healing. Thanks dear.

Aside from unhappy moments at work, the past 2 weekends had been spent at my bridal shop selecting my gowns and doing gown fitting. It was tiring but fun! I must say I am super happy with my wedding and evening gown. Its one of those where the moment you see it and put it on, you know ITS THE ONE!!! The bridal shop coordinator is really patient with me as it was alreadythe 4th time I am selecting gowns. As usual....the fickle me....

Next week is our photoshoot and I am super nervous. I know HJ doesn't really like to take pictures and as for me, I am super UN-photogenic so we are quite worried our album will turn out bad. But we just gotta go and have fun on that day and not be so stressed up over it!!!

Tom is friday. Lots of work to do. Lots of things to settle. Lord please be with me!!!!!!!

MUAR

Last weekend my whole family including HJ made a trip to MUAR for my sister's wedding in MUAR. My brother-in-law's grandparents are from MUAR so they need to have another banquet thrown there. We set off from Singapore with his family earlt Sat Morning and there were 5 cars travelling together. Actually it was very fun as they carried walkie talkies and it kinda felt like taxi drivers conversing through the walkies. Hee hee....

I have never heard of MUAR prior to last week and it is actually a small town somewhere near Batu Pahat. There is only 1 shopping complex in the entire town. My brother-in-laws family are really nice and played a very good host to us. They took us to eat their famous Bak Kut Teh, Otah and even visited durian plantations and we had durians for lunch! plus mangosteens and rambutans. Yummy.

The banquets in Malaysia are very different. The local relatives don't really dress up for the occasion. It was pretty much like a simple dinner. No fanfare like what we have in Singapore. The food served is also quite different from the normal hotel spread we have in Singapore. Overall it was quite a good experience!

777 is the perfect day. perfect day for a perfect couple. perfect couple that got together in holy matrimony that day! It started off real early at 6 am when the make-up artist arrived. The whole family was so excited! Around 7am, the groom and brothers came to zhuang men. My sister's friends were really cool. Planned lots of game to tekan the groom including asking him to do some impossible yoga steps and saying things like "My money is your money. Your money is your money." Haha....overall was pretty funny man! We headed off to church at around 830am. It was drizzling but I believed it was showers of blessings from God. The wedding ceremony was beautiful with my dad walking my sister down the long aisle. My younger sister was the bridesmaid! Cool rite?

After the ceremony, we headed home for the tea ceremony and some buffet lunch. After which we checked into Hyatt Hotel! Wow the hotel is damn nice and cool man! The bridal suite is like super SUPER big!!! The TV is Bang and Olufson one le! Plus there was a coffee espresso machine and a huge bathroom and a stove to cook and a big dining table! Wow cool! When I headed to the normal room which my sister had booked for us to stay over, we were also very happy with the room cos its roomy, clean and beautiful!!!! HJ even went to check out the brand of the mattress so that we can consider buying that next time when we have to buy our own mattress. (Btw the mattress brand is Sealy, which is a very good brand!)

I had my hair and make up done and I opted for the smoky eye look (cos I never do before ma) and kinda liked it!!

You know what? I realise when I eat stuff with too much Ajinomoto, my face starts to feel tense. Now its feeling better but 1 hour ago it was real tense man! I had this fish head steamboat thingy that tastes superb but it has too much MSG in it. What a pity!

Anyway I went to the MANGO sale today. Damage for me today was $109. Oh man....I think I seriously have a shopping disease. Seriously!!!! I guess if you have been reading my blogs, you would have realised that it isn't the 1st time I talk about my serious shopping illness. Every weekend if I go shopping, I will end up spending, spending SPENDING! Plus the GSS sale is just too good to miss. I always tell myself that I will not spend any more NEXT week. But NEXT week will be the same! Oh man....I must control. CONTROL!!!!! If not I really will deplete my savings. But I realise shopping is really my favourite pastime. This is followed by tv serials. Cross Stitch. Eating. Yummy!!!

Talking about food, me and HJ went to the Jurong HillTop restaurant yesterday for dinner. Wow the place is damn damn far le. At Jurong Bird Park in Tuas. Its quite a ulu place. No car cannot go one. But the teppanyaki was quite good le. Dada had the steak (as usual) and I had the teriyaki chicken (as usual also! haha) and mushrooms as well. We sat at the teppanyaki table and watch the chef work it out! It was quite scary when the chef pour oil on the steak and lighted the steak with fire. BOOM!! The fire was so BIG and HOT!! Scary!! But it had it cooked!! Overall the food is good! But hor, I find it quite expensive le. The bill came out to be $60 plus. I mean for the food and the distance to travel there, I think it aint too value for money la.

We are still waiting for Mount Carmel to confirm with us if their church is available for us to rent for our wedding. Its been such a long time already (Since March) and they have yet to confirmn with us. So we decided to source for another church as back-up. Today we went to see one at Aljunied. It looks a little old from the outside but surprisingly the Sanctuary looks not bad le! Quite new looking and the rental rates are reasonable. Though its $400 more than Mount Carmel. So now we have made a tentative booking there. If Mount Carmel does not confirm with us soon, we will most probably take this church as it is convenient to get there.

Today we went to some furniture shops to source for beds and chanced upon this really cute thing. See!!!

It's really SUPER funny! We were like laughing and laughing like mad! Haha...I love these 2 photos!!!!! It's hard to imagine that they make things like that. I wonder if it's for sale???

Anyway my sister's wedding is drawing near. Today I went with her for her final fitting. Her gown is really beautiful with lots of crystals. I am so happy for her that she finally found someone who can take care of her! I know she will be happy with him!! Can't wait for her BIG DAY. After her BIG DAY will be mine. Gosh. But still got alot of time la. But also got alot of things to prepare le. Plus I haven't even confirm my evening gown. Have gone down twice to select gowns but never see anything I like le. Hopefully next month when I go down again I will see something I like lo. My coordinator quite good. Very patient. She say there will be new gowns coming in next month and she will arrange for me to try them. Yay. Hopefully will find something I like. Actually I would like my evening gown to be black with crystals. But the Bridal Shop don't stock black gowns. Cos black aint an appropriate colour for weddings. Haha. HJ actually say I can Made-to-Measure an evening gown if I want to. But don't want la....save money!!!!!

Ok la...I write alot already lo....actually prior to this entry I actually typed in a whole chunk of words when I was at Macdonald's this evening. But the stupid wireless not stable and wiped off all my blogging! I was so MAD!!! But nevermind la....now I also type alot lo...hee hee

Hi guys....Its been 2 weeks since I had those nasty rashes and I thank you guys for your prayers because I am much better these days. I have consulted another doctor and currently I am on a new set of medication which I have to complete for 10 days. The rashes are almost totally gone and I really thank God that there is a cure for me.

I have been feeling quite happy lately. Mood wise pretty good. I guess its cos I an recovering and I am very thankful for that. Realised that Health is really super important and worth much more than anything. Being sick made me treasure my body. Throughout my sickness, I really had no other means but rely on God and have faith that he will cure me. There are certain times when I prayed and I felt such peace and security that just thinking He is with me made me feel safe and not scared of anything. It is an amazing feeling really.

This morning I followed my parents for a walk at Botanic Gardens. Had to wake up at 6am for the walk and dada also accompanied me. My parents wanted me to start exercising again to build up my body. Actually I can't remember the last time i exercised but after this long episode of sickness, I think it's time I built up my health. Walking in Botanic Gardens at 7 am in the morning with my parents is a great experience. Me and dada holding hands walking behind them makes me feel a sense of happiness. The air in the gardens was so cool and fresh. It was refreshing. Though I did not perspire at all, at least I managed to sniff in some good clean air. That was a great start to a great day. But my poor dada is so tired, the moment we came home, he plopped down and till now he is still sleeping away.

Haha..I am going to wake him up so that he can accompany me to my retail therapy. Later I am going to collect my engagement ring which I had sent for resetting when we went to choose and make our wedding bands. I am so excited cos I had some engravings done on the ring. hee hee....

I'm really very upset. These 2 weeks I have been falling sick, over different illnesses. It started with Stomach Flu last thur where I puked out everything I ate. Including the medicine that was prescribed to me. Next day I blacked out on my way to work and I felt so giddy and breathless that I had much difficulty going home as well as make my way to the doc. Sunday night I was hit with a full body rash and it has been a tormenting experience for me as it looks damn disgusting and is so damn itchy. I have seen the doc twice for my rash but it just seems to get worse and worse.
I am terribly upset. I keep praying to God to heal me and give me speedy recovery but I just don't feel his presence with me. The medicine that used to work previously when I had the same rash just doesn't work anymore. I don't know what is happening to my body. Now I can only stay in my room and cry. Cry because I am upset. Cry because I don't understand why I need to go through this disease. Cry because after much prayers I am still not recovered. Cry because I am supposed to be organising the Bro and Sis day today with my dada and there he is alone at Botanic Gardens, organising everything alone. I feel so bad to let him manage everything alone. Cry because despite needing to organise the Bro and Sis day alone, he still asks me to stay at home and rest and say he will be able to handle it. Cry because I can't figure out what the Reason for God to let me suffer this rash. Oh man I can't even remember the last time I cried and now my tears seem to be flowing endlessly like revenge for the times I never cried.

Brothers and Sisters please pray for me. Pray that I will be able to endure the itch. Pray that my rashes will recover soon. Pray that the current medicine will work for me to combat the rash.

My very 1st SPA experience

Do you guys remember the 1st time you went to a SPA? How did it feel?
For me, my 1st attempt at SPA was last sat! Its a wine spa with wine scrub, full body massage and a wine jacuzzi dip!
Actually it was my dada that wanted to go for the SPA. For me, I am someone who really can't stand the thought of someone touching me so I have never gone for a full body massage before. Even when we went to places like Phuket, Krabi and Bangkok where full body massage costs only around $10, I also always opt out of it and have to wait around for those of my friends who wanna go for the massage.
Before the SPA, on thurs and friday and even on sat morning, I had butterflies in my tummy!!! It was quite worried that the massage will be too ticklish for me to bear and I wanted to back out last minute! But my friends encouraged me to go cos they say if I don't go, I will never know if I like it or not.
So in the end I went. In fear. In uneasiness. In nervousness.GULP!!
The experience was.....
WONDERFUL!!!!!! SHIOK!!! RELAXING!!!! FEELS HEAVENLY!! FEELS LIKE TAI TAI!!
I can't believe myself. I actually liked it???? Come on!! How is that possible?? Well.....seriously I TRULY ENJOYED IT.
My very 1st SPA experience left me with a changed opinion on SPAS!!! MASSAGE! Wow when the person started to massage me, it was really very relaxing man!!
Ok so I will be going for my 2nd, 3rd, 4th and so on SPA.....
And the best part of this SPA is..... Dada paid for it!!

A pleasant surprise....

Last month HJ asked me if I am free on 27th April. I asked him "WHY LE???"
"I planned something for you la."
"Ok I'm free!!! What you plan ah??"
........................No response.

I was wondering if he was gonna bring me to some fancy dinner. But then again, for fancy dinners, how come need to fix a certain date le? Hmm...can't be le...Maybe its some kind of WINE dinner? Yah! Must be it!!!!!

So i waited patiently to see what surprise he has up his sleeve. To my surprise, there was no fancy dinner. No wine. It was a performance at Esplanade.

Australian singer Deb Fung. Not bad le her songs and her voice. But prior to this I have never heard of her. Hee.... Live band and Live music! Cool!!!!

Some updates to share!

Just want to share with you guys what had been happening in my life.

Joined the F3 firefly outing in JB. Though not many people turned up, it was a fascinating trip for me. We took the boat and headed down the streams. Along the river banks were lots of fireflies on the trees. They looked so beautiful like those small lights on the christmas trees. With the bright full moon in the sky, the boat ride was quite romantic. At one time Pastor Liao even caught some for us and me and HJ had a chance to play with one on our hands. Amazing bugs which gave out lights. In normal lighting, they merely looked like big ants. Good experience.

Chocolate fondue and sharing at my place. It was a nice gathering for us. But too bad the turn out was not too good. Hee.... We shared about where we see ourselves in 5 years. Basically me and HJ love to organise fondue get togethers. YUMMY!!

Attended a wedding show which the Bridal shop I signed up displayed their new gowns. Above is a gown which I quite like. I love the lower part of the gown which has gathers.

Will be going for our 1st gown selection soon. I am looking forward to it!!!! Hope I can find something I like and which fits me!!

Just back from Maundy Service at my church. It is to commemorate the death of our Lord Jesus Christ. Yes he was nailed at the cross on this fateful day some 2007 years ago. We as his followers and disciples hold this day in our lives as an important day to rememeber our Lord's sacrifice and sufferings.

To live our lifes as a daily offering
As worship to our Servant King....

Oh man I love this song. It is a truly good reminder to how we should live our lifes here on earth. It means so much to give up our lifes as a daily offering yet it is something that not all christians can. It is always a struggle for us in this world. But this grace we have received is really something so precious and worthwhile that we mustn't make it cheap. For our Lord paid for it expensive.

For me, I will never forget how God changed my life, changed me and gave me a new ME. AMEN.

Retail Therapy is my absolute delight. It makes my spirits high high high! Post CNY sales are absolutely great! Therapeutic! Makes me SUPER happy! I don't know why but I really feel very happy when I go shopping and buy stuff. Sometimes when I see many nice things in a day, I am torn as to whether to buy all of them or to forgo some. But the thought of missing out on such great deals just makes my heart ache!! Buy Buy Buy! I always overbuy, always tell myself that the next month I won't! But hor, I always end up buying. Oh man...seriously I don't think I should be spending that much on shopping. But i guess girls are all the same, all shopaholics. But these days I have been thinking, what if I or my loved ones suddenly fall ill and need alot of money urgently for treatment? The money spent on shopping could have saved a life! Oh man... such thoughts make me pause and think if it's worth purchasing another top to add to my already HUGE collection or another pair of shoes which would not matter if I buy it or not. Hmm....

Yo guys....I'm back from Phuket and am feeling really rejuvenated and exuberated and happie!Phuket is really a very nice place for a short getaway with lots of ANG MOs, good food, great drinks,nice little night bazaar stalls,great shopping,nice hotels and last of all,not too bad looking beaches.

The hotel we stayed in is Royal Paradise Hotel and we stayed in the new wing which is a little moe expensive than the old wing. It has a balcony overlooking the swimming pool with a great view of the phuket hills. The rooms are very clean and comes with comforter! *For those who know me well, I am very VERY particular about hotel cleanliness especially the beds and blankets. I detest those brown blankets ALOT!* Ya maybe I am a little spoilt but these things can really MAKE or BREAK my holiday! Thank God the room is nice! Just like what we read in the reviews. Only 1 flaw noted was the mosquitoes in the room which keep buzzing around. Minus that and I give the room a 9/10!

The highlight of the trip was the elephant trekking in the woods which lasted around 30 mins. It's my 1st time riding an elephant and I truly enjoyed the ride! Halfway through, the trainer got down and tried to take many photographs for us on the elephant. Sadly, he did not know how to operate our camera and in the end, none was captured. So we had to purchase one from their photographer which cost us around $8. Oh man...expensive hor? What to do? Tourists like us are carrot heads! Haha.... One cute thing about this elephant that we rode is that when we were going downslope, it refused to move even when the trainer kept calling him to MOVE IT! He was busy looking around at the trees and branches and breaking off the branches and leaves to play with. We were a little worried that it would run off as the trainer had already gotten down and was walking in front of it. In order to make it move, the trainer had to poke his ear with this iron rod which I think it's a little cruel to this animal but then again, what else can make it move?

The food in phuket is good. We ate at this NUMBER 6 restaurant in PAtong for 2 of our meals and really enjoyed the food there! YUM! In Patong there are also many pubs and places to chill where you can find lots of ANG MOs drinking beer beer and more beer! 1 bottle of ICE COLD BEER can really make your day end well! Hee hee....

Shopping in Phuket is more expensive than Bangkok and it is truly harder to bargain here. But 1 thing to note is that the LEVIS jeans are really cheap here compared to Singapore. I bought a 599 for only 69 SGD and my dada managed to get one on discount at only 50 SGD! Can you imagine?? Wow next time if you guys go Phuket, can go to the LEVIS at JungCeylon or Central Festival. Cannot miss! Oh ya by the way these 2 shopping malls are the biggest there. We managed to buy some cheap adidas and clothes there. Was really good! I think both me and my hubby are super SHOPAHOLICS! We can really shop like MAD! He was very sweet in helping me to choose, giving me opinions, waiting for me to see my things and carrying all my shopping stuff! Thanks dear!!!

1 bad thing about Phuket is that the transport is a killer. Plus there is no room for negotiations. Once they know you are tourist, they will only quote you 1 price. Even if you check with a few of them, it's the same price. Oh man....I think they like to corner tourist and earn from us in this manner. No choice man.

But overall I really enjoyed this trip! Plus I only had to pay for my own air ticket and shopping, makes things even better! Haha....Thanks dear!

Valentines Day and Chinese New Year are so near to each other this year! You either LOVE or HATE these 2 occasions. As for me, I love Valentines Day because it's nice to think that there is one day marked on the calendar to celebrate human love and I love CNY because of all the goodies. Now I even feel a little tickle on my throat and it seems a little sore. Oh man...must be the BAK KUA I ate earlier. This new year is really very well spent and everywhere I went to bai nian, the following phrase is always said," Last year you getting Ang Bao hor? Next year you must give already le!!!" Oh man...I can't imagine I'll be giving out Ang Baos next year. Like those Aunties! AHHHHH!!!
The holidays were good. Met up with some old friends to catch up. But I hardly got any sleep with dine, wine and singing.

It's my birthday in a few hours time. But I have already received presents and friends and family have been celebrating my birthday for me!

Last Sunday my fellowship celebrated my birthday early at Fish and Co IMM. The turnout was good...and the Fish and Co staff were very nice to take a polaroid picture for all of us and stuck it on a Fish and Co postcard with the staff's well wishes and presented to me as a birthday gift! Plus they even had complimentary ice cream for me. Thanks man! When my fellowship sang birthday song for me, plus the cake that they bought for me, I just felt so happie! Thanks guys!!

Next was my dad who gave me a treat at Peach Garden restaurant with my whole family. The food was not bad but what warms my heart is that my family sit together and have meals happily together. I think that is the bestest thing in the world! Thanks papa!

Today my colleagues and boss treated me to a delicious crab dinner at MELLBEN seafood! Wow we ordered butter crab and chilli crab (3 in all), noodles, 2 veggies, fried beancurd and veal. Very very yummy! It feels alot like family to be working with this group of people. They are really a fun bunch and really nice! Thanks guys! I really appreciate it!

Well... that sums up my pre-birthday celebrations and in a few hours I will be 27. Oh boy I am gettin older!!! Yikes....

Haven't been pening down my thoughts lately. Perhaps its cos of my ever busy lifestyle or rather my laziness to write....
January is close to an end and it just reminds me that our wedding is getting closer and closer. Though it sounds exciting, along with it entails alot of planning and work especially in the area of our church wedding.
Me and Irvin were at P.S. Cafe (Our favourite cafe) the other day and thinking of people we would like to approach as helpers and the total number of helpers needed amount to more than 20! Wow....seriously what makes a wedding is not just the bride and the groom but rather the couple's family and friends!
Just church helpers alone we needed a Praise and Worship leader who will also play the emcee for the event as well as his accompanying musicians. Church decoration, food coordinator, Powerpoint and PA coordinator are all necessary for the church wedding. Not forgetting the logistics, the flower girl and the ring bearer and most importantly Pastor Daniel Chua for conducting the ceremony, another pastor for the message of the day and 1 more for the blessings message.
When I attended church weddings of couples in my church, it always touches my heart to see all brothers and sisters putting in their very best to help the couple on the big day and their commitment and sincerity just brings our the Christ in them.
Just picturing my church wedding and they will no doubt be in my mind as part of the entire wedding. This goes to show how important the bonds are between fellow christians.
After New Year I will be trying on my gown. Of course I will work hard to eat healthily so that my waist will not grow horizontally and my arms will not go back to its BIG and Flabby stage. But when New Year goodies come, it is hard to keep temptations away. Hee hee....
My work has been pretty good. Just that these few days I have been feeling a little drained by my work and plus the fact that I have fallen sick these few days, work just seem like a burden to me. But not to worry because I know things will get better.

Oh man no wonder I distinctly remember I had something to blog about but just could not point out what it is cos too many events have been happening lately with Irvin's birthday and Xmas and New year countdown. But it's not too late to pen it down. Which is.......

OUR 3RD YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!

I guess you guys probably can't tell where Dada took me on our 3rd year anniversary. Haha....Well we were at a restaurant at CHIJMES!!! It's a Korean-Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant and the food there is really nice! It has many varieties of beef to choose from and this was a surprise for me for the night!

Wah see he eat until so HAPPIE!!!!

This photo is taken by Dada....I find that its taken quite well cos can see the logo of the restaurant. YUMMY FOOD. I recommend to Teppanyaki lovers because the meat is very well marinated and the soup and Bulgogi rice is very yummy also.

After dinner we headed to another place in CHIJMES for drinks. I can't remember the name of the pub but its a spanish pub with live singers. The singers there were quite jovial and funny! In all there were 3 of them and they played string instruments. The ambience of that place is nice.

Anyway I don't think next year we will be celebrating our anniversary anymore because there will be another new anniversary date which is more significant to be celebrated!!!! Cheers to many more happie days to come!!

Dada's birthday I brought him to Red Dot Traffic building. Over there, I picked this restaurant

Le Papillon for dinner. Read in the Wine and Dine review that this restaurant serves food of some standard so decide to bring my dada there for a nice and romantic meal.

Starter for me was a salad where the dressing was absolutely perfect and yummy! Even dada who NEVER eats salad had some and he commented that its the nicest salad he has ever eaten!

Starter for him: Miso soup with Clam and Scallops. The taste is mouthful and fragrant

The wine for the night. 2002 cabernet sauvignon from Jacob Creek Winemaker's special selection. Superb wine. We bought this at the airport when we travelled.

My main which is a special sauce pasta, unlike the typical cream sauce or tomato based sauce, this pasta is bathed in a special chilli oil and my dada also enjoyed pasta for the very 1st time. He says this pasta is very delicious! Wow....Dada never ever liked pasta.

His main was a special black cod fish which is prepared so well that the oil is not present when you take the fish. Superb culinary skills.

This year's church camp gave me new insights on the meaning of LOVE.
As my relationship with both God and Irvin progresses, God seems to have deepened the meaning of LOVE in my heart.
It was a good camp. Though food and accomodation wasn't fantastic, the fellowship was good. This camp is the last camp that me will be rooming with the sisters!!!
Anyway, I shall let the pictures do the talking.

Today I took half day morning off because I just wanted to sleep in later than usual and have some rest. It was really SHIOK man!!!! Plus tomorrow I will be on leave the whole day so I can do some Xmas shopping, it just adds on to my happiness. Haha!!!

So today finally dada can meet me on a weekday after work to have dinner and shop shop! I can't even remember the last time we went out to pak tor on a weekday!!! (Not including Friday of course!) I was so happy when he said he no need work OT and he can pei me go out!!!

We went to City Link and headed to this Jap Rest which is new called RAKU. I ordered Jap curry Don and he ordered Teriyaki Chicken set. I think the food there has very limited variety and doesn't really appeal to my taste buds. But thank God the food turned out to be quite yummy. Bad thing is that the restaurant does not serve iced water. Actually I do not like restaurants that expects you to pay for iced water. I mean then why am i paying for service charge?? DUH???

After dinner we went to Suntec to walk walk. It feels shiok to shop on a weekday. No need to squeeze together with the crowd. I walked into Dorothy Perkins and saw a red bag which is quite nice and since I do not have a red bag, I decided to buy it!!! At that point Irvin was next door in Top Shop and I was wondering if he will scold me if I buy tings but to my surprise, when he returned to the shop, I showed him the red bag and asked for his opinion, he said its NICE!!!! And when I told him that I gonna buy the bag hor, he never scold me or nag me le!! WOW!!! Another perk to add on to my wonderful day!! Haha...so i bought the bag. My 1st ever red bag.

Next we walked around trying to look for presents for 2 of our church friends. But did not find anyting suitable. Walked past Nike shop and Irvin tried on a pair of shoes which was 50% off! Not bad le the shoe. But I did not like the front part. I find it too white!!! He bought it! Great!! So we both end up happy shoppers!! Hee...

We headed back towards City Link for our dessert after shopping. Tried New York New York. We always wanted to give it a try but the queue is always so long at mealtimes. It was then 9.30 pm so there was not queue. We find the prices tehre very reasonable. Had a fried Mars Bar with ice cream and a Caribbean Breeze. Think the food is so so la...but we will be back to try their proper food next time!!

Tanglin Bazaar Victory!!

Had a really GREAT time selling my old stuff at Tanglin Mall Bazaar last saturday!!!
This is our 4th time (Or is it 5th?? Hmmm) selling stuff together at Tanglin Mall. However, this time round is different because this is the 1st time me selling stuff with my Dada helping me.

When we reached Tanglin Mall, we were already late cos dear need to work in the morning so by the time we picked up our friends and reach there, it was already 3.45pm. We just opened our mat and sat down, before we even opened our bags of clothes, the crowd was already waiting in front of us to unload. SO stressful! We didn't even have time to arrange our stuff nicely. We just poured everything out on the mat like Pasar Malam like that and started to sell.

Wow the crowd as usual are mostly maids. Their bargaining skills are SUPERB!! I think they probably go to the bazaar every week. But me, Xia and Bing decided to hold on and not give too much discount until the last hour!! Hee... Although everything was just poured out into 1 pile, we were still able to identify our own stuff! And we even helped each other to "market" our products. Very fun le this time round.

My dada joined us after he went to his friend's house warming and he grumbled that I never take out his old photoframes to sell. So he set up his own corner behind us to sell his photoframes and some new stuff we got the other time at Bangkok. So our stall became a 2 way stall! Haha....Ah dear not bad le...still managed to sell his photoframe and also 5 new items!! Phew! we finally could get rid of a portion of the stocks we got from Bangkok to sell online.

Anyway I truly enjoyed myself at the bazaar and also made quite a tidy sum from the sale. Hee.... Think I wanna go again soon!!!

Friday after work I tagged along with Jesmine to chinatown as she was going to her tour briefing and I wanted to get some brochures for any upcoming holiday plans which currently have only a 20% chance of materialising. *Sigh......*
I was hungry after all the tour agency hopping and bought myself a LIAN YONG BAO before heading into OG. The security guard at the entrance stopped me saying "No Food Please" So I stood outside OG eating my BAO till some familiar melody flowed into my ears....

As I was eating my BAO and listening to this song, I turned around to see a blind man playing this on his organ. He just kept playing and playing and playing non-stop. As I looked at him, I really felt this sense of empathy and my heart really ached quite a bit. He is blind yet he has to endure the heat in the open space and keep playing and playing, not knowing if anyone will donate any money to him. He cannot eat, he cannot go to the toilet, he cannot drink water. Yet he can play GIVE THANKS. At that moment, I could feel my eyes well up with tears and as I was slowly munching on my LIAN YONG BAO, I couldn't help but feel ashamed of myself. Ashamed that I take things for granted, ashamed for being too engrossed in this pursuit career, of wealth, of material things. I realised me and Him had something in common. We both have the Lord. He will never forsake us. He will always be with us. No matter what. I will never forget what happened last Friday.

It's been a long time since I last blogged! Been very busy lately...
Had a department BBQ last Saturday which was pretty good and on Monday, my Budget team finally accompanied me to eat CHONG QING steamboat! hee hee....I like!!!

Life's been pretty good...The past friday we had quite a good time at Ninth Vine wine bar downing sparkling red wine and cheese sausages after a hearty meal of SUPER DUPER GOOD claypot chicken rice at ABC market which I highly recommended to my dada. I think my mouth is really very good at tasting WINE and DINE. Want good food? Just check with me! Check out the glasses which we drank the sparkling red wine from. Very different from normal red glasses.

Since last week, I made suggestion to my team to start wearing the same colour on casual FRIDAYS! Last friday was a WHITE day.

The past FRIDAY was a Yellow Day!!

Erm...you guys noticed my curly hair? think I have gotten pretty used to them already....Kinda like my new look. What do you think?

Anyway today we went bridal studio hunting again!!! We visited Flamingo which we really liked but looking at the steep prices, we just put it under KIV 1st. After which we visited Bridal Concept, which is recommended by Irvin's colleague Lawrence.

Stepping into the shop, I felt quite comfortable as they allowed me to try gowns and even passed me gowns of many designs for trial. Wow I didn't know that I look pretty good in halter and spagetti gowns as well! But again, I REALLY NEED TO SLIM DOWN BABY!!!!
So my view of "I only want BUSTIER please" has changed and I am more open to other design types.
The coordinator cum designer MAY who served us was very professional and patient. She even gave me her opinion of what sort of gowns would suit me. Today for the 1st time DADA also tried on his suit. I think due to his height, he looks very smart in suit.
In the end, we signed up with them. Phew~!! After weeks of searching for Bridal Studios, we finally settled on Bridal Concept. GREAT!!! Another item down.

Tried wedding gowns for the 1st time over the weekend. Wow the experience is really special. I feel like a princess! Though we have yet to select our bridal studio, the service at J&C really impress me. They let me try 3 different kinds of gowns including a halter satin, a bustier satin and a bustier organza. I personally like the bustier ones. I think they make me look better. Wedding gowns really make you look slimmer and pretty! I like gowns with crystals and embroidery. Plain gowns are not for me! I also like long trains cos I will be walking down the aisle at church. I hope I don’t trip and fall with a long train. Haha…cos I always very clumsy one then my dada say I surely will trip and fall in church. But no worries la…cos my papa will be holding on to me when I walk down the aisle ma!!!

Haven’t decided on the bridal shop to take. I guess my dada is tired of shopping for bridal shops already. I want to look at more shops but he objected, saying that seeing more will only confuse ourselves. Therefore, we have narrowed down our selection to these 4:-

1) My Bridal Room
2) Jazreel’s Collection
3) Flamingo
4) J&C Bridal

I guess our focus will be my gown and I also told HJ that he mustn’t overlook his suit also, as I also want him to look good that day! I secretly hope that I will win something bridal prize at t he upcoming wedding shows which we will be attending, namely the one at Roxy Mercure Hotel and Sheraton Towers. The tickets to Sheraton Towers were given to us free by our wedding coordinator Sun Sun. It is really generous of her to let us go in for free as the tickets cost $30 per couple! Thank you Sun Sun!

Yesterday I finally went to do what I wanted to do in a long time. Guess what I did????
I permed my hair. It’s a Japanese perm. Not too big waves. I find it quite cute actually. But in a way it seems like I have also aged a few years. But nevermind la…change is good. Straight and long hair all the time is boring man! I sat through a gruelling 4 hours in the salon with steam in my hair! Ouch so hot!! My dada also pei me sit in the salon for 4 hours le and he never complain at all le!!! Thank you dear!! He so caring and nice hor?? Hee.....So far my dada and mama say nice. My younger sis say not nice. My colleagues say not bad. So I guess overall still can live with it la. Haha….Now I in office so cannot post up pictures of my new look. Maybe tonight I will post lo.

Peak at work is almost over (I hope la….Lord please give me a break from the hectic work and scary boss’s demands!!!!!!!!!!!) I hope that weeks ahead I can spend more time reading God’s words....something which I really lack alot...

It was a good trip. A trip to Kukup with my colleagues! Joining me is my dada. Initially I was worried my dear will feel left out on the trip cos he has never seen my colleagues before. But to my surprise, he mixed so well with them! And he is such a sweetie with his initiatives and helpful actions. My colleagues all "APPROVE" of him as my bf! All say he very GOOD! haha...
Great! So I will end up with a GOOD hubby! ;P

My 1st time to Kukup. My 1st trip with this bunch of colleagues of mine. They are really a very fun bunch!! Funny and entertaining. Kukup was pretty much what I imagined it to be before I reached Kukup. But, I want to comment that it is cleaner than I imagined! Proper flushing toilets and beds and freshly washed blankets! Not bad wor! Better than some disgusting hotels I have stayed in before.

Highlight of the trip include the bargaining we did to buy fireworks and firecrackers *YUP! Real Fireworks and Firecrackers wor!!!! Like thos national day kind. Serious!! No joke!* We pooled in money and bought a few kinds. At night, my boss's husband Eric did the light off and we were in awe of the fireworks!!!!! Oh man the feeling is so shiok to see real fireworks light up by us! Next in line were fire crackers! My colleagues kept asking me to try to light up and I DID! It was very exciting and thrilling and I ran off at TOP speed after I light up the fireworks! haah...BOOM BOOM BOOM!

Houses at Kukup are built on top of mangrove swams and the sea. Quite special. Another highlight of Kukup is their agar agar with stuffing like tau sar, peanut, pineapple and yam which is made in the shape of ANG KU KUEH!! There were 3 shops selling the same thing in Kukup and we visited them all to do some tasting! The last shop e visited allowed us to try making some agar on our own! *I wonder if the one I just popped into my mouth were made by me??* It was great fun making and tasting the agar.

The food was generally ok. Not fantastic but ok la. But on the 2nd day lunch we had steamboat! YUM! But the steamboat really not too good la. I just quite like the soup. *WHEN CAN I GO EAT CHONG QING??????????????????????? Ah dear please bring me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
